Aerial Mapping

RGC works closely with CK Aerial Surveys out of a base in Johannesburg, operating three full LiDAR systems.

The Leica ALS50 (Phase II) LiDAR system is superior to any other LiDAR system on the African continent, due to its very high scan rate and the low flying altitude, which yield point densities of up to five times that of older generation LiDAR systems.

In addition, the 39-megapixel Leica RCD camera flown in conjunction with the LiDAR system, yields full-colour, geo-referenced orthophotos at the highest possible resolution.

Surveying an area of interest using LiDAR and high-resolution photography could save the client time, money and, in some cases, the logistic requirement of providing surveyors with access to inaccessible areas.

We have an impressive history of successful aerial work carried out in over 15 African countries under often difficult circumstances. We offer several platforms for aerial surveys, both fixed wing and helicopter. This affects the time and cost of a project. We can tailor make projects to suit the client’s needs and budget.

Geographical Information Systems (GIS)

The Asset Tracking Division is a relatively new aspect of RGC. In a world that requires the honing and optimisation of several assets working in tandem over large geographic distances in varied cultures and conditions, the need to know the locality of any asset at any given point in time is critical.

We specialize in quantifying, mapping, tracking and reporting on the assets being tracked. By identifying the position of assets in time and space, with access to historic data, optimising the employment and use of these assets becomes relatively easy to do.

Firms can see the performance on a macro and micro scale of their assets. Decisions on the cost vs. benefit of assets can be made and qualified operational management decisions taken as to the continued employment of these.

Health and Safety, invoicing and service delivery, economic health and optimized performance are all analysed and reported on. Qualified forward forecasting can be done with decisions taken at a management level on distribution and continuity of assets owned or utilized.

Building Information Modelling (BIMs) is one of but many on-going asset management programs that can be initiated and run through RGC.
